Maison Kinchos · Commission

One stone.
One client.
One piece.

Every commission begins where most jewellery ends. With a conversation about what a piece needs to be.

We begin with what you need. An occasion. A feeling. A sense of what the piece should do, even if you cannot yet say what it should be. We source the stone. We design around it. We build the thing that did not exist until you asked for it.

What we will not do is show you a catalogue and ask you to choose. Every Maison Kinchos commission is built from nothing, toward something exact.

The Process
I
The Conversation
We begin by listening. What you want, what you need, what occasion this marks, what you will wear it with, how you actually live. The conversation is not a briefing. It is the first act of design. Basil observes. Agneta asks. Together they build a picture of what the piece should be before a single sketch exists.
II
The Stone
We source. We work with natural gemstones selected for their integrity rather than their certificate: spinel, sapphire, ruby, jadeite, and others. The stone is chosen for you specifically. Your colouring, your proportions, what the piece is meant to do. We will not show you a stone that does not suit you. When the right one arrives, you will know.
III
The Design
Design follows the stone's true geometry. Not a standard calibration, not a template. Proportions are worked to the gem's actual dimensions. The setting is engineered to serve the stone, not frame it. Every line is resolved before production begins.
IV
The Model
Before any metal is cast, a resin model is made with your actual stone set in place. You try it. You see the weight, the proportion, how it sits. This is the moment most jewellers skip with a coloured rendering. We do not. If something needs to change, it changes here. Not after the gold has been poured.
V
Production
Cast, set, and finished in Singapore by specialists selected for their precision. Basil oversees every stage. A setting must close cleanly. A curve must resolve its own tension. The standard does not change because the piece is nearly done.
VI
Delivery
The finished piece is presented in person. We do not courier a commission. This is the moment the work becomes yours. We want to be there for it.
