On Custodianship

Some objects are owned.
Others are kept.

Jewellery at the highest level has always carried this distinction. It passes through hands, but it is not casual.

Maison Kinchos works with individuals who understand this difference. They do not collect for volume. They do not purchase for display. They choose deliberately, often infrequently.

Natural gemstones are not interchangeable commodities. Each carries geological formation that cannot be replicated. Once set into a structure designed specifically for it, that combination becomes singular.

There is no second version waiting behind it.

This is why we do not produce catalogue equivalence. And why comparison rarely clarifies anything.

Custodianship begins at the moment of selection — when the reason for acquisition can withstand time.
