The word “luxury” has been stretched thin.
Material reality has not.
An untreated gemstone remains exactly what it is: finite, formed under geological conditions that cannot be manufactured to order. Its dimensions are not standardised. Its proportions are not negotiated.
To design around such a stone requires accommodation, not imposition.
At Maison Kinchos, the structure follows the actual geometry of the material. Not an idealised measurement. Not a stock setting. The process cannot be rushed because the stone cannot be replaced with an identical substitute.
We do not argue against alternative value systems. Synthetic and heavily treated materials serve different intentions. They are simply not ours.
Material truth does not need performance.
It only requires care.
